BKK Varme in Bergen, Norway
The BKK Varme district heating plant in Bergen supplies heat to customers in a area that stretches from Bergen centre to Sandsli/Kokstad, approximately 70 km away. Total heat production is about 140GWh per year, and some 15,000 customers are supplied with district heating.
In the plant there is about 76 km of piping running from the heat generators in Rådalen to Kokstad and to Bergen centre. Wideco has designed and supplied monitoring systems based on our WiDetect X4.
The system incorporates around 30 WiDetect X4 alarm units which monitor the district heating pipes via IP addressing on the existing broadband.
Wideco won the contract in competition with several European humidity-monitoring systems.
