Wideco Expands in Water Metering – Signs Framework Agreement with Sinfra
Wideco has recently won a procurement and signed a framework agreement with Sinfra (Swedish Purchasing Center for Infrastructure). This means the company is now one of ten suppliers in the field of smart water meters. Wideco’s comprehensive solution combines hardware – in the form of advanced water meters – with the innovative digital platform WISION, enabling real-time monitoring directly on mobile devices.
“We are pleased to once again be selected by Sinfra for a new framework agreement,” says Dan Wärja, Commercial Manager at Wideco.
Sinfra simplifies the procurement process for its members by pre-negotiating favorable terms and prices with suppliers. This allows municipalities to easily order products and services without having to conduct their own procurement processes. The framework agreement with Sinfra thus gives Wideco access to over 600 potential customers, including municipal water utilities across Sweden.
“Winning this procurement is a huge opportunity for us and a sign that we’re on the right track. We’ve been a reliable Sinfra supplier in the district heating sector for a long time, and now we’re deepening our collaboration through water metering,” explains Dan Wärja.
Water meters visualized directly on mobile devices
Wideco’s smart water meters allow users to monitor water flow and total consumption while detecting and alerting them to potential leaks or abnormally high flows. The WISION visualization tool replaces traditional analog meters, offering a seamless digital experience with real-time data, giving users full control over water flow. The meter easily integrates into the customer’s existing system and is mounted on a water meter console. It can then be connected to WISION via LoRaWAN technology.
“By tapping the NFC chip on the meter, users can quickly and easily access real-time data directly on their mobile or browser, without needing to install any app. This provides full control over water consumption and optimizes usage, promoting both sustainability and efficiency,” explains Dan Wärja.
A Significant Deal with Great Potential
The framework agreement with Sinfra is valued at 500 million SEK and opens the door to many new customers through the organization’s members. To handle the expected growth, Wideco has already hired a new salesperson, who will start in December and focus on the Smart Water sector.
“This marks an important milestone in our efforts to develop water monitoring and visualization solutions. We are well-prepared and ready to deliver. The platform is in place, and now it’s just a matter of getting out into the market and talking to customers,” says Dan Wärja.
The new agreement comes into effect starting October 1 and will last for two years, with the possibility of a two-year extension
