Wideco becomes part of Europe’s leading group

Today Wideco becomes part of Europe’s leading pipe system manufacturer Pipelife. Together with Wideco, Pipelife plans to expand its own range
of smart systems, especially in the important segments of water, utilities and energy.

– We see great potential in our new owner and the group as a whole. The intention is to allow Wideco to grow further by taking advantage of the potential
of the combination of pipe systems and smart IoT solutions, says Karl-Johan Wirfalk, CEO at Wideco.

Wideco’s current CEO and co-owner Karl-Johan Wirfalk continues to run the business and maintains a smaller ownership stake. Together, Pipelife and Wideco
will further develop smart homes and IoT solutions.

Who are Pipelife? Pipelife, a subsidiary of Wienerberger AG, is one of the leading European manufacturers of plastic pipe systems and pipe fittings with 31 production
facilities and a presence in 25 countries. The company was founded in 1989 and today forms a large part of the Wienerberger Group, a global manufacturer of building materials.
